Bethel Piano Lessons

Want to learn Piano? How this works:

Taking piano lessons is a fantastic starting point for many students, and our Bethel piano lessons are perfect for beginners as young as four years old. Early piano instruction helps students build foundational skills like note reading and rhythm, which are valuable for any musical journey—even if they later choose a different instrument like guitar, drums, or a band or string instrument.

At Music Learning Center, we offer diverse teaching styles to match each student’s goals. Most students start with a method book to build strong fundamentals before exploring their favorite styles, like popular, rock, or jazz, and even learning to play by ear with chords.

For adults returning to piano or starting for the first time, our lessons make it easy to enjoy the music you love while reaping the mental and physical health benefits of learning an instrument. Whether you’re a young beginner or an adult ready to dive in, Bethel piano lessons can help you achieve your musical dreams!

Do I need to purchase a piano or keyboard?
To take piano lessons you will need a keyboard or piano at home to practice. A student can begin with a keyboard that has just 61 keys as long as it is “touch sensitive”. That means that when you strike the keys lightly, they sound quiet, but when struck harder they sound louder…just like a traditional piano. A keyboard like that will be fine for a while, but pretty soon you will need the full 88 weighted keys, and pedals. A keyboard (or digital piano) that has weighted keys feels like a traditional piano (also called an acoustic piano because it is not electric). The weighted keys are important to develop proper finger strength and piano technique. Yes. Even if you don’t have a musical background, you can ask the teacher for advice on how to help your child practice. By simply monitoring that they are playing the songs and exercises a certain number of times each day, you can help your child achieve steady progress. Many parents will sit in on their child’s piano lesson occasionally to get an idea of the proper way a song should sound, or how the student should be positioning their hands. Though it’s not required, our teachers can help parents be involved with their child’s learning to whatever extent that they are able. Helping the student achieve independence with their at home practice is one of the keys to long term progress.
