How do private lessons help students who are in their school band?
Private lessons are an excellent way to supplement school band programs, offering personalized attention that helps both beginners and advanced players excel. Not all students are part of a school band—some learn for personal enjoyment, to play with friends, or to prepare for joining a community band. Whether you’re a young beginner or an adult looking to refine your skills, our New Milford woodwinds lessons are tailored to help you achieve your musical goals.

We care about your musical interests

Enjoying the music you play is essential to a great learning experience for woodwind students. Our New Milford woodwinds lessons are designed to help you or your child explore the styles and songs you love. If you’re unsure what music excites you most, our teachers will help you discover it! For students in school bands, lessons can focus on enhancing band music performance while introducing additional pieces they enjoy. Whether you’re a nine-year-old beginner, an adult returning to a woodwind instrument after years, or an experienced player in local bands, we’ll create a personalized plan to help you achieve your musical goals.

Good technique starts here

Yes. Even if you don’t have a musical background, you can ask the teacher for advice on how to help your child practice. By simply monitoring that they are playing the songs and exercises a certain number of times each day, you can help your child achieve steady progress. Many parents will sit in on their child’s lessons on occasion in order to have a better idea of the way a song should sound, or how the student should maintain the correct posture while playing. Though it’s not required, our teachers can help parents be involved with their child’s learning to whatever extent that they are able. Helping the student achieve independence with their at home practice is one of the keys to long term progress.
